Language: Russian
As some people are already aware, the Russian words for "peace" and "world" are the same word, мир. This sort of thing can lead to charming rewordings like this entry from Madonna, who I believe is critiquing, in her ineffable way, the promises made by global capitalism by contrasting them against the ugly reality of the ongoing battles in Afghanistan and Iraq.
