If We (Janet Jackson)

Language: Russian

It helps a lot, on these, if you know the lyrics to the original song pretty well, and I realized while I was doing this one that I never really had any idea what Janet ("Miss Jackson," apparently, if you're nasty) was talking about for most of the song. All I could ever make out was the chorus. But I'm posting it anyway, because I think it's pretty obvious what she's saying, even if it's somewhat mangled. It's not like it's a treatise on Hegelian conceptions of identity in difference or something.

Sitting over here
I stare in your side
with the lust in my eyes
confident, don't give a damn
and you don't know that I dreamed it,
you're never in my Times fantasy,
which they even saw me
not achieve that through you.
I want you to satisfy my needs.
I think you want to let
your reason run freely,
freely to the place no one dares to go.
How I placed it into the bed, many a night, and
it did not excite you.
I shut my eyes and thought us
differently expensive,
which I got there so many times
I'm as interested about you as
day and night, night and day.
I must say everything:

if I was by your girl
the things I would make you do,
I would make you call out my name
I would ask if it belongs to
your thing woman. If I was,
then it'd do (to me, to you)
but I'm not;
therefore I can't,
then I won't be,
but, if I was your girl.

Make a certain time available to me
to play with your reason
and you will get there, you
shut your eyes again and again,
you present my undressed body by taking your
time, we get entire nights.
You rise in proportion to yourself,
you touch my femoral bones,
you prevent my knowing you.
Then you love if you love,
I will go downward with you.
(da downward, downward, downward da downward, downward)
You will hold yourself in my hand,
and baby, your flat and shiny feels good against my lips, sugar.
I want you, so I fail.
Try your love right now,
baby, day and night, night and day.
I must say it all:

if I was by your girl
the things I would make you do,
I would make you call out my name
I would ask if it belongs to
your thing woman. If I was,
then it'd do (to me, to you)
but I'm not;
therefore I can't,
then I won't be,
but, if I was your girl.
